Birds

Chickens are often the first animals that visitors encounter, and they never fail to delight with their busy activities and distinctive personalities. For children, the experience of feeding the chickens, collecting freshly laid eggs, or simply observing their behaviors offers invaluable lessons about responsibility, empathy, and the cycles of nature. These hands-on interactions teach young visitors about the importance of caring for animals and respecting the environment, fostering a deeper connection to the natural world.

Emus are large, flightless birds native to Australia. They are the second-largest birds in the world, after ostriches, standing up to 6 feet tall. Emus have long necks, powerful legs, and small wings, which they use for balance when running at speeds of up to 30 miles per hour. Their feathers are brown, soft, and provide excellent insulation. Emus are known for their curious nature and can travel great distances in search of food, which mainly consists of plants, fruits, and insects. They play a significant role in their ecosystem by dispersing seeds through their droppings. Emus are also culturally significant in Australia, appearing in Indigenous mythology and as a national symbol.

Peacocks are large, colorful birds known for their vibrant plumage, especially the males, which have iridescent blue and green feathers with eye-like patterns. These birds belong to the pheasant family, with the most well-known species being the Indian Peafowl. Males, called peacocks, use their elaborate tail feathers to attract females, known as peahens, during courtship displays. Peacocks are native to India, Sri Lanka, and Southeast Asia, but they have been introduced to many other parts of the world. They are also admired for their loud, distinctive calls and their ability to adapt to various environments.
